Update--1/24/2009

So, it's been a very long time since the last blog, and my blogging consistency seems to be very low--it was unusual, when I was on tv.com I would blog almost EVERY SINGLE DAY, and now I have this great blogger account set up, and yet I'm barely posting anything. Maybe it's because I lack the motivation I had on tv.com--I knew I had readers there.

Which brings up the subject of tv.com--at first I couldn't live without it, and now it's not bothering me that much that I'm not on there, except for this one little part of me that absolutely irks to go back there. There's a part of me that still misses tv.com horribly. I'm still there, every day, reading everyone's blogs but not being able to post my own--the same kind of helplessness I felt BEFORE I joined tv.com, but worse now because I HAD a taste of that, and it all just slipped away.

So, the eternal question: creating a new account? Going by a completely different username, having to regain all those levels, and possibly getting banned AGAIN?????? Is it worth it? That's the question I've been pondering so far, but if I DID go back, it would be mostly for the relationships I've developed there (yes, JFJ, this means you...and PS123, too...and CM...and almost everyone else). I guess the banning just really hit me because I hadn't had a TOS in over a month, the mods were getting off my back, and I was trying to HELP them, seemingly, at least, making the impression that I wasn't trying to ruin their website, I was, if anything, trying to help out and IMPROVE it. So...

should I rejoin???

Thoughts...deep thoughts...

Update--1/11/2009 & Obama thoughts

So, as you may have noticed, I haven't said much here so far. I've been busy with other internet engagements--my proboard, this unbelievable online course, that kind of thing. I have a new photo next to my profile, as you may have noticed. It's the BoSox mobbing the field after winning the World Series in 2004. I got it from iconator, it was an animated one, but for some reason every time I save an animated icon to my computer, it takes the animation away! :-( Before it had shown that picture, and then flashed "Take That Yankees!!!" repeatedly. I don't know how the animation gets lost.

5 more invites to my Proboard were sent, or so it was said, but for some reason they didn't seem to have the intended effect. I never found out who they got sent to anyways. Apparently bob_ball got one, as I was browsing a few blogs back on tv.com earlier today (yes, I still try to keep in touch with things), but for some baffling reason he can never join Proboards.

Meanwhile, in other, more important matters, my father did some after Christmas shopping yesterday and brought home the salient observation that most of the stores looked like ghost towns. Keep in mind this was a SATURDAY, with Xmas items up to 90% OFF.

In government, our very own governor Schwarzenegger has proposed cutting back the school years 5 days, which may seem all apple pie and ice cream, but this will affect the state's teachers dramatically as a LOT of money can be brought home in just one week. I know. We have educators in the family.

And speaking of Schwarzenegger, I just want to go off on a tangent here to make a point. For Christmas, I got the DVD of The Simpsons Movie, which I had never seen before. In it, Schwarzenegger is president, which isn't even possible because he is foreign-born. Just a few days later, back home in the civilized world, all the tabloids (which I had had a 6-day break from up in the mountains) had allegations splattered on their covers that Obama was not American-born.

Well, you know what I say--So what? I mean, what about Bush? He's American as you can be and he's the worst president we've ever had! In my book, as long as you've lived in this country, and you feel a deep appreciation and love for this country, you should be allowed to be president. So what if Obama spent the first 24 hours of his life in a foreign country? How can we prove that that makes him unfit to be president, just because the hospital he was born in wasn't in America? It has nothing to do with his smarts, his intelligence, his performance. It doesn't affect anything. So how, I ask you, HOW??? can we deem him unfit to be the next president for the sole reason that his first hours were not spent on American soil. Hmm?

ANSWER THAT.

OK...slow your roll, RedSoxFan, you're getting too steamed. Just nine more days until the inauguration...then we will be on a path to a better nation and a better world.

Nine. More. Days.

Welcome

Hello, and welcome to this brand new blog. I don't expect this blog to be all that much, pretty much just a day to day record of my experiences and insights into what life is and how we approach it. When April comes around, things will get beefier with the addition of my BoSox comments. Anyways, please watch as this blog grows more and more. Hopefully passing browsers will take interest. Or maybe not. We'll see what happens. But I have a positive outlook, which is of course most important.

You see? That's the kind of insight you'll get.

Enjoy.
